From January until the middle of April I will be training at Tassajara, a Zen Monastery in the Big Sur wilderness in California.

Here the teal water of the venetian canal contrasts strongly with the pinky orange of the wall and the blue boat.

Ca’D'Oro

Ca’D'Oro measures 97cm x 103cm

The colours have an Art Deco mustard feel about them, but remain quite understated. The image references a photograph I took of the famous Palazzo on the Grand Canal during the 54th Biennale del Arte in Venice, and the dancing figures are part of the installation by artist Marco Lodola.
